Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 9, 2026

This policy explains what data Jolemeau collects, why, and what you can do about it. Jolemeau is a personal project operated by Lezin Luc ("we," "us," "our"), an individual based in Texas, United States.

We wrote this policy to be short and readable. If anything is unclear, email hello@jolemeau.com

What we collect

Right now (before accounts exist):

  • The messages you send to Jole
  • Your IP address, browser type, and timestamps (standard server logs)
  • Any error messages the service produces

When accounts launch (planned, not yet live):

  • Your email address
  • A password (stored hashed, never in plain text)
  • Your saved conversations with Jole
  • Your name and any preferences you choose to share

When personalization launches (planned):

  • Preferences you set (interests, communication style, etc.)

We do not use cookies for tracking. We do not currently run analytics tools like Google Analytics. If we add analytics later, we will update this policy first.

Why we collect it

  • Your messages to Jole are sent to our AI provider so Jole can respond
  • Server logs help us keep the service running and diagnose problems
  • Account information (when accounts launch) lets you sign in and save your chats
  • Saved conversations (when memory launches) let you pick up where you left off

Who we share your data with

Jolemeau uses these third-party services, and your data passes through them:

  • Groq — receives your messages to generate Jole's responses. Groq has its own privacy policy at groq.com.
  • Render — hosts the Jolemeau service. Render sees traffic patterns, IP addresses, and server logs. Render's privacy policy is at render.com.
  • Cloudflare — manages the jolemeau.com domain and DNS. Cloudflare sees DNS queries and, if you visit jolemeau.com, some network-level information. Cloudflare's privacy policy is at cloudflare.com.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers.

Whether we look at your chats

We do not routinely read individual users' conversations with Jole. However, we may access specific conversations when:

  • You report a problem and we need to reproduce it to fix it
  • We suspect abuse of the service (spam, attempts to harm others, violations of our Terms)
  • We are legally required to (subpoena, court order, or similar)

When we do access a conversation for one of these reasons, we access only what is necessary for that purpose.

How long we keep your data

  • Server logs are kept for approximately 30 days, then automatically deleted
  • Chat messages sent to Groq are handled according to Groq's retention policy — see groq.com
  • Saved conversations (once accounts and memory launch) are kept until you delete them or your account

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. When you do, we delete the data from our systems within 30 days. Backups may retain data for a short additional period.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we have about you (email hello@jolemeau.com to request)
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Export your saved conversations (available once accounts launch)
  • Opt out of any future analytics or improvement uses of your data

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@jolemeau.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Children under 13

Jolemeau is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, email hello@jolemeau.com and we will delete it.

Users outside the United States and Canada

Jolemeau is intended for users in the US and Canada. If you use Jolemeau from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country. By using Jolemeau, you consent to this transfer.

Security

We use standard security practices to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption for all traffic between you and Jolemeau. However, no online service is completely secure. If we experience a data breach that affects you, we will notify you as soon as reasonably possible.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we will change the "Effective date" at the top and note significant changes on the site. Continuing to use Jolemeau after changes means you accept the new policy.
